A Manifesto for Shiva

I believe if you hit love,

Love will hold your fist and embrace it

Like water

Unchanging, pure and true.

I believe if you douse Love,

Its flame will rise up

And engulf you.

Burn you in its intensity that your darkness will be

cleared away,

until only it remains

untouched, everlasting and whole.

I believe if you dirty Love,

Put garbage, insults, accusations on it

Into the Earth, the Mother will embrace you

That you’ll wonder at your misdeeds,

And you will clean Her… and wonder what possessed you,

while her lotus flowers bloom, her food, her

trees, her meadows, recycling you into a new bloom.

Something from Nothing – something beautiful.

Something that is You, but new.

Nurtured, redirected, grown and loving too.

Unfathomable, indestructible and deeply you.

I believe if you pollute love, with negativity

With possession, jealousy, hatred and selfishness -

It will regard you… it will watch you.

Long and hard – and it will blow its wind

Right back to you… that love will show you

you… that you may choose to breathe

the fresh air, and say something new…

That love… not affected by you –

Only loving you…

Divine blissful union – from the inside out – a lifetime, and lifetimes

to come…

Of Me & You.

I believe if you erased love from

The space that held it,

It would find its way on to you.

That everywhere you went you’d be reminded of it

That you’d become it

Then you would be it too.

That love…it is
